It has been a while since I have written anything here. Busy-ness with our new grandson and the arrival of Spring are my excuses, as lame as they may seem (well not our new grandson.) Anyway, it is time I got down to work on this photography avocation by putting some of the images I have tucked away on the computer out for people to see, hopefully like and maybe even buy a print. Really, if you just like the image, that's good enough for me.
I read the other day that one of the best ways to improve is to go out and shoot places and things that you know very well, which makes all the sense in the world. To do that means I have to get get my camera and my butt out the door to start seeing and shooting. So, I'm thinking about shooting around Glen Ellyn, IL where I've lived most of my life since 1960 and in Chicago, I've lived within 25 miles or so of Chicago all of my life. After all, I can walk to Glen Ellyn and I can catch the train to Chicago by walking less than half a mile! Pretty simple, eh?
So, for now I will post some of my existing images and the new images of Glen Ellyn and Chicago will be coming soon.
One more thing, I was talking with Jessica, owner of Renaissance Art Studio in Glen Ellyn (www.framingglenellyn.com), yesterday and I decided to offer $50 off each of the prints of mine that she has in her stock. The offer is available this coming Friday evening through this coming Saturday (April 27-28, 2012) at Renaissance Art Studio, 481 N. Main Street, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.
